Golden Pet Therapy provides professional, heart-centered animal-assisted services that bring comfort, connection, and joy to people of all ages. Founded in 2022 with their first Goldendoodle, Teddy, Kezia and Ben Drake saw firsthand how the gentle presence of a dog could transform a space—whether it’s a college campus, medical facility, office, or community event. Since then, the Golden Pet Therapy pack has grown, with each dog carefully trained and matched to settings where they thrive.

Meet Kezia & Ben Drake

Founders of Golden Pet Therapy

Golden Pet Therapy began with a simple idea: dogs have a unique ability to bring comfort, connection, and joy. That idea came to life in 2022 when Kezia and Ben Drake introduced their oldest Goldendoodle, Teddy, as a facility dog at Navarro College. Remarkably, Teddy began his work at just 7 weeks old—quickly becoming a beloved presence on campus and laying the foundation for what would grow into Golden Pet Therapy.

Kezia Drake is a full-time Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and pet therapist. With a background in mental health and a passion for healing, Kezia blends clinical insight with the natural calming presence of therapy dogs. Outside of her counseling work, she enjoys playing cards, spending time with family, crafting, and tackling small household projects.

Ben Drake is a pet therapist with a professional background in public safety and sports medicine. His calm, steady presence makes him a natural fit for therapeutic environments, and he played a key role in launching Golden Pet Therapy’s first programs. Ben is passionate about supporting others—whether through canine connection, emergency response, or cheering his kids from the sidelines. Outside of work, he enjoys beekeeping and spending quality time with his family.

Together, Kezia and Ben are committed to building meaningful connections—one visit, one dog, and one heart at a time.
